How fluent are you in reading music? You may have guessed by now that I am a huge fan of becoming fluent in reading music. The better you can read music, the more the world of piano opens up to you. Just like reading the printed word, reading music is a language that requires practice and most musicians do not do enough of it. To truly get great at reading music, you need to….READ MUSIC! Lol!
It sounds simple enough but many skip it for one reason or another. That is why I am recommending this great app called Key Wiz. It’s a nice simple app that quizzes you on sight reading and even adding just a few minutes a day will help you tremendously.
With this app you can:
- Learn new notes
- Become more fluent in your sight reading
- Take quizzes to track your progress
- Make it a part of your daily piano practice routine
- Become a more well rounded musician
I am so grateful that I can sit down at the piano with a new piece of music and play it. I know how rewarding this is so that is why I am strongly recommending sight reading new music and using apps like this one as part of your daily piano regimen. If you come across other helpful music apps, please share them with us and let us know so we can all become better musicians each and every day.
The goal is to be a well rounded piano player that can enjoy the world and language of music, speaking and playing it fluently.
