I feel like bowling, yes bowling…

There I said it. Yes, I like bowling and I don’t care who knows. As my first few days of actual relaxation begin, my mind begins to think of what activities could begin to fill my schedule. While you may be considering bungee jumping, an African safari or perhaps visiting the great Pyramids, I’m thinking about bowling.

It seems that we all want a big story to tell all the time. We love stories that begin with phrases like, “you won’t believe what happened this weekend” and “snorkeling in the Caribbean was amazing!” Watching my niece and nephew open gifts on Christmas eve, I realized that young enthusiasm, unencumbered by the pressure of impressing anyone else, is amazing to watch. I often ask kids, “what are you thinking about right this second?” and usually the answer is either Pizza, Nintendo DS or bothering their siblings. Even more often it’s a combination of all three.

The point to all this nonsense is simply this: Simple activities with simple people with simple fun=lifetime memories. Don’t believe me? Think of the 5 most memorable moments in your entire life and tell me how “awesome” the activity was. My guess is that it’s simplicity surrounding by lots o’ love.

So here’s to bowling, cards, a good cup of coffee, a walk in the park or even a quick game of 20 questions and of course the company of those that mean something to your heart.

much simple love
