The Goal: Learning Beethoven’s Fur Elise
Another of my favorite pieces to play. Not only is it a lot of fun to play, but it is also surprisingly easy to learn. There is a hardly a person that will not instantly recognize this melody when you play it.
A few points to keep in mind:
- Practice each hand separately first and then try playing the, together.
- Do NOT worry about playing fast. Speed is easy to acquire in time. Instead focus on accuracy of notes and proper fingering.
- Practice with a metronome at a slow tempo, gradually increasing the Beats Per Minute(BPM) when each part is learned.
